Under the creative leadership of Lyle Wedemeyer, Martin/Williams has built a reputation as one of the nation?s top creative agencies. In 1996, Martin/Williams was named runner up for the A+ Creative award, given by the American Association of Advertising Agencies for creative excellence across a broad range of clients.
A copywriter by trade, Lyle?s work has received two Cannes Lions. His ads have consistently been recognized by One Show, Communication Arts, New York Art Directors and Clio shows, as well as numerous other national and international competitions.
Lyle was named Midwest Creative Director of the year by Adweek Magazine in 1994.
Lyle joined Martin/Williams as a Copywriter in 1980. He was named Vice President/Associate Creative Director in 1985 and Senior Vice President/Creative Director in 1989. His most highly-recognized work includes print and television advertising for CompuServe, the Minnesota Department of Health Nonsmoking Project, 3M, Play It Again Sports, Mercury Marine, and Target. He has strategic involvement on many key Martin/Williams accounts, including Rubbermaid, 3M, and Dayton Hudson.
Prior to joining Martin/Williams, Lyle was a Copywriter and Creative Group Head at Paragon Advertising in Minneapolis, where he worked on a variety of consumer, retail and business-to-business accounts.
He is a past president of the Minnesota Art Director/Copywriters Club and a graduate of Iowa State University. His Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communication includes minors in marketing and advertising design.
