About me

Damon Escott comes with extensive Director/Cinematographer credentials, and a vast knowledge of every facet of post production. He readily packages live action with comedy using in-camera techniques, and visual effects, consistently combining his high sense of aesthetic perfectionism with technical excellence. Essentially he loves combining art, math and science into films and stories.

Damon is best known for his highly ambitious commercials and music videos. He’s brought his maverick creative background to numerous commercials, directing internationally on campaigns for Mentos, Kratingdaeng, Eucarbon, Mandiri, Honda, Ardiles, Orang Tua, Yamaha, Isuzu, BNI, Unilever, Canon, LG, Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, ANZ, NRMA, Nestlé, Arnotts, KFC and Sanitarium.

His music video work is bold and beautifully brave. From 2003 to 2010 he maintained a strong profile working with Australia’s finest music artists including Silverchair, Powderfinger, Bernard Fanning, Cat Empire, Eskimo Joe, John Butler Trio, Pete Murray, Spiderbait, Little Birdy and Sarah Blasko.

Plaudits include an ARIA (Best Music Video) where he was nominated 7 years in a row. MADC Award (Best Design), a couple of BAD awards (Direction), SBS Television Award at Flickerfest, and has garnered success at apex film festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Spain, Rome, Sydney, Palm Springs, Toronto and Seattle.  He’s also won a Golden Tripod for best cinematography and fifteen other ACS awards.
