With undisputed writing talent, Adrien Armanet is a well-established French director who quickly became renowned in the audiovisual domain. With a sharp sense of humor, each of his films is a true comedy. His portfolio spans documentary, music videos, commercials and short films.
He began his directing career through creating a number of short films such as Monsieur Badin (2001), Supernight (2002), Ahmad and Thalie (2004) and Crawl (2006). Hailed by critics, several of his short films received the ‘Prix du Jury’ and the ‘Prix du Public’ at the Young Directors Festival. His visually compelling, almost surrealist short Harry’s bar (2006) follows the journey of a young man afraid of water.
Since then, he began to direct commercials for Diesel, Sony, Quechua, Sprite, Renault, Biotherm, Peugeot and Carte Noire. Working with Buzzman Middle East, the ‘SOS’ film for Durex tied in with an app enabling users to order condoms to be delivered discreetly, between 4p.m. and 4a.m. in Dubai.
Adrien Armanet is also the trailblazer who created the interactive video A Hunter Shoots A Bear for Tipp-Ex in 2010. The spot gained over 20 million views on YouTube, creating a considerable buzz on the web and in the industry press. He went on to create a sequel for Tipp-Ex entitled Birthday Party film, which picked up two Bronze Cyber Lions at Cannes Advertising Festival in 2012. In 2014, a new version came out, in partnership with the famous singer Pharrell Williams.
Recently, he has worked on a spot for Everest Poker, Granola and Canal +. A leader in his field, Adrien Armanet is well on his way to conquering international festivals one by one.
