Executive Creative Director at Momentum Worldwide Australia

About me

I am an experienced creative leader who has led and overseen creative ideation and development of award-winning work globally, across multiple platforms. I have built, managed and inspired creative departments to develop creative ideas that establish strong emotional connections between brands and their audiences, turning insights and behaviours into award-winning and culturally impactful brand communication ideas.

A passionate creative who thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, I have created, produced and launched multiple integrated, 360 campaigns, across print, television, film, online, outdoor, experiential, content and social media. I am innovative, curious and hungry about what's next and what has not yet been done, having conceived a digital experience that turns you invisible, shown how to detect cancer with a mobile phone, invented a bio-organic fertilising printers’ ink, hacked a Fitbit to work on a dog, and had horses trained to dance.

I have been in Creative Magazine's 'Power 20', nominated for Marketer of the Year, awarded for my volunteer service to the industry, named Creative of the Year in the APAC region, had three campaigns in top 10 of Won Report's 'World's Best DM Campaigns', and over 120 awards internationally, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, OneShow, Effies, Clio, NY Festivals, Spikes, Echo, Caples, DMA UK, AWARD, ADMA, MAA Globes, APMA Star, and more.

Consulting Creative Director
Valtech
November 2015 - July 2016 (8 months)
The premium international consultancy connects digital platforms, data, technology and content for brands including Bupa, Audi, Qantas and BBC. As Consulting Creative Director, I oversaw the creative ouput from both London and Manchester offices and expanded the agency’s renowned lean and agile methodology to include ideation and creative output, for developing better ideas faster.
Executive Creative Director
New York, United States
June 2013 - June 2015 (2 years)
After relocating to London to help align the network’s UK operations – Wunderman (consumer engagement advertising), Blast Radius (digital), Burrows (CG production) and KBMG (data and insights) – into a more holistic offering of integrated marketing, I sourced fresh creative talent from the UK, Sweden, Norway, France, USA, New Zealand and Australia, and led the creative team to double in size, win major new accounts, and produce internationally-awarded campaigns. Within one year, the agency increased revenue +95% YOY and beat targets for the first time in 5 years. Econsultancy ranked Wunderman UK as 7th in the top 100 agencies in London, Campaign magazine’s School Report scored the agency 8 out of 9, and Wunderman UK was Runner-up for Consumer Engagement Agency of the Year 2014.

I was also the Regional Creative Lead for all Wunderman offices across Western Europe, Nordics and Africa, helping build a network-wide culture of award-winning ideas, connect the 21 offices in the region utilising some of the global initiatives I helped develop from my previous role in Australia, and drive Wunderman’s presence at the Cannes Lions festival each year.

National Executive Creative Director
Wunderman Australia
November 2008 - December 2012 (4 years 1 month)
Under my creative leadership, Wunderman Sydney developed from 15 staff to 70 to become the fastest growing and most financially successful agency in Y&R Group Australia, ranked 8th for growth and No.1 for creativity in Wunderman’s global network of 150+ offices, and merged with the Melbourne office (35 staff) to offer a national structure and integrated advertising.

For our role in the world-renowned ‘Share a Coke’ campaign, Wunderman Australia was named 2012 Agency of the Year in the APAC region at the Digital Asia Festival in Beijing and brought client Coca-Cola to be awarded Brand of the Year 2012. The agency was also ranked No.4 Australian agency, and was shortlisted as Australian Direct Agency of the Year four times in a row and recognised as Highly Commended Agency of the Year 2010 at the AdNews Awards.

In 2011 I was nominated Marketer of the Year and received Australia’s first ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award for dedication and service to the marketing industry. I also served on the 2011 Cannes Direct Lions jury, and was named Creative of the Year 2010 in the APAC region by Campaign Magazine.

For the network, I helped re-implement the structure of Regional Creative Leads, taking on the role for Australasia, developing several global initiatives for bolstering Wunderman’s creative positioning, and gave the network their first haul of Cannes Lions in years.

The award-winning ATL agency hired me (again) to help them be recognised as a more integrated agency by connecting mainstream advertising with response and digital marketing across major clients. My multi-channel creative work on brands including Foxtel, Aussie and Emirates Airlines gave Saatchi & Saatchi the largest haul of awards for any Australian agency at the ADMA Awards 2008 – 17 finalists including a Grand Prix finalist, with 11 trophy wins – and many more internationally.

Senior Art Director
BMF Australia
November 2001 - March 2007 (5 years 4 months)
As agencies discovered the need to be full-service with an integrated offering, up-and-coming independent agency BMF hired me to help expand their highly creative ATL advertising into a fully integrated offering for all clients including BPAY, Austar, ING Direct, Tooheys and IKEA. As a result, integrated advertising became BMF’s strong suit, making them arguably Australia’s most successful independent agency and internationally recognised.

While there, my copywriter and I were the only team in the world with two campaigns in the top 10 of Won Report’s “World’s Best Campaigns” (for BPAY and Australian Red Cross Blood Service), helping propel the agency to be ranked 11th best in the world.

Clients: BPAY, Austar, Australian Red Cross Blood Service, ING Direct, KingGee, Tooheys Extra Dry, XXXX Gold, SBS, Lamb, Blackmores, IKEA, Samboy, Médecins sans Frontières.

Only 4 months later, I collected my first handful of awards for creative campaigns for NRMA and Toyota.

Clients: NRMA Road Service, NRMA Insurance, NRMA Financial Services, Foxsports, Toyota, NRL, Castrol, Pantene, Olay.
