With an eye for creating engaging and visually appealing moments out of everyday situations, Aaron’s strength lies in exploring character development and story to create a strong sense of feeling in his work. He also revels in rich colour palettes and production design to create moods that are emotive and resonant.
Aaron’s work spans TVCs, music videos, and short filmmaking.
Aaron took part in a filmmaker residency programme with The Objectifs Centre for Filmmaking & Photography in Singapore. His short film FENG (WIND) was created as part of this residency and was awarded ‘Best Short Film’ at the Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival. His most recent short film, AHMAD’S GARDEN was produced in association with Screen Australia and premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
His minimalist approach to narrative, and passion for understated human drama has proved successful on the international film festival circuit with his films screening at over 80 festivals, and international sales.
Aaron is currently in post production on his first feature film, ‘Canopy’, a Singapore/Australia co-production set during the fall of Singapore in 1942. It is due for release in 2012.
