PHNX Jury Interview 2024

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury this year?
PHNX is one of the few Awardshows where every level can participate and exchange different views on the work. I think it is important to stay in touch different views on creativity, because only then we can change a course. To make changes possible, you have to be there where the discussion takes place.
What do you think of our hybrid jury, featuring creatives but also strategists, clients and people from all corners of the industry?
See my previous answer: Different points of view from a professional perspective makes the work evolve. Creativity is not a sole ownership of creatives. Within each professional field creativity makes a difference. So I really embrace this.
What do you think of the idea of free entry until the shortlist stage?
It lowers the bar for young and independents to enter. But, it can also lead to non-reflective entrances, that makes the work of the jury more intence to find the gems in the clutter. On the other hand, it is a good way to see how your work actually performs against the competition. And when it performs well, people want to pay for it.
How would you define the perfect PHNX Awards winner?
Human insights and creating emotional impact. And that on real goals, that really can bring a change, executed through good ideas and craft. When you see the work, it should make you jealous that you didn’t made it.
What is having the biggest impact on creative trends at the moment?
The easy answer is AI. But the better answer is, that true human insights that are really relevant to people will be an impact bringer.
Who would you nominate as your two or three “creatives of the year”?
There is so much talent and really amazing people out there that are so incredible creative in their own fields, that I would do short just to nominate two or three people.
