Andrea Arnold

A recent article said that “Andrea finds herself at the vanguard of a new generation of British filmmakers poised to take over from the likes of Ken Loach and Mike Leigh”. In the relatively short time that director/writer Andrea has been making films, she has won an Oscar and two Cannes Jury Awards. Andrea street cast a teenager having a row on her mobile phone for the lead role in 'Fish Tank', and has just finished shooting 'Wuthering Heights' with a cast of totally unknowns. Prior to directing Andrea was a TV presenter and dancer on Top of The Pops. It is said of Andrea that she “makes extraordinary films about ordinary people”.
