Joanne McKinney is Chief Strategy Officer for the Burns Group, an independent Branding and Advertising Agency based in NYC. She has worked in innovation, advertising and marketing on diverse and global brands both in the U.S. and abroad. Joanne’s passion is to unlock consumer insight and translate those insights to successful brand strategies, new products and marketing initiatives. Joanne started her career at Grey Advertising, and joined the Burns Group following her role as Interim Director of Integrated Marketing for Kraft Europe. Earlier in her career, Joanne was a pioneer in the U.S. mobile industry, founding a mobile agency in 2003. At the BurnsGroup, Joanne has built a strategic planning process that begins where most other agencies' end -- blending strategic rigor with creativity to help brands take new leaps. Outside of work, Joanne leads the not-for-profit organization, Through The Eyes of Children: The Rwanda Project and serves on the board of The International School of Brussels Foundation, and the Advisory Council for Cornell’s Entrepreneurship Program.
