I graduated in political science and art, although at that time I was busier trying to make it as a Rock Star, in which I, apparently, didn’t succeed.
So as an artist/designer I started out directing motion graphic leaders for film festivals and music videos for befriended musicians. This got me some international acclaim and a promo I did for a Dutch band named Coparck even made it to one of the best promos worldwide in 2007.
In 2008 I got featured in ‘Shots magazine’, as ‘New Director’ and launched my commercial career at CZAR and later on at BONKERS. My work evolved during this period into visually strong and personal films, always searching for humanity and beauty in the scripts I get.
I still passionately direct commercials and occasionally a music video, but I have also started working on short films and longer formats. My second short ‘A day off’ was nominated on various internal short film festivals and recently I did a documentary series for Heineken.
In commercials I have worked for international clients such as Vodafone, Ikea, Peugeot, Toyota, NUON/ Vattenfall, ING Bank and loads of national clients such as Tele2, Eneco, Essent, BINCK Bank, LU, Ben, Megafon and FNV.
I love to work together in making scripts and stories communicate better and believe that what we don’t know is way more interesting than what we do know.
