Responsibility for overseeing all pre-recorded bits and events that stream on our airwaves as well as tasked with crafting witty and informational bumps, underwriting and PSAs at one of the largest college radio stations in the country. My duties also include helping create and strategize show promotions, including the recording and editing of promos for DJs and helping concept ideas, voices, and music for upcoming productions.I have also created graphic schedules, assisted in promotions, hosted shows as a DJ, and have been awarded Chair of our recently developed re-branding anti-committee (we don't want to sound corporate).
Wrote headlines, body copy, and product descriptions for brands including Zippo Outdoors, Real Avid tools and the Real Avid 2015 Catalog for both business-to-consumer, and business-to-business. I was lucky enough to work directly with clients to create work that reflects the passions and drive that go into the products themselves.
Hired and managed 75 employees to run a Target back-to-college event that was wildly successful, producing over $62,000 of sales in just under 2 hours. The execution of the event got a little hectic near the beginning as some of the employees had to drop out at the last minute, but I was able to secure alternates with minutes to spare and everything ran smoothly. The customers, some 600-800 college freshman, left happy and stocked-up for the school year.
I was the head coach of Morgan Park, a small, hidden gem in Minneapolis. I taught children aged 5-16 the game of tennis, focusing not just on skills, but fun and sportsmanship as well. I developed new drills and taught strokes of extreme technicality with success to even the youngest of kids, helping them increase their confidence not only in tennis, but in themselves as well. To me, this may have been my most rewarding job. It brought me an unprecedented amount of joy to watch these young kids develop skills and confidence as the result of my coaching. My biggest success was a student named Sam who I was able to help over the course of several years progress to the point where he qualified to be my assistant coach.
My time at Colorado State has been the best of my life. At first I was scared to leave home for an extended period of time, but the second I got there I knew it was the right decision. I have been blessed with fantastic roommates and friends, great classes, and the best weather in the country. You could say 300 days of sunshine and the mountains has been treating me well.
