Eduardo Basque Interview(s)

PHNX Tribute Jury

Why did you think it was important to join the PHNX jury?
For always bringing together the best works in the global advertising industry, being alongside great names in advertising and for the incredible experience of being part of a communication channel that I have always been an admirer and follower of.
What impact do you think the event might have on the industry?
Mainly because it is free, we will have a great challenge to choose among the best jobs in the world. The criterion is only intended for creativity and the execution of ideas, in addition to expanding creativity and consecrating the great jobs and great professionals behind them in addition to revealing new talents and new thoughts.
What do you think of the hybrid jury, which includes strategists and journalists alongside creatives?
The mix of ideas, thoughts and forms will always guide our industry from now on. The new molds are adapted to the excellence of job delivery and public acceptance precisely for this reason. This mixture of different professionals from different areas of activity only adds to the festival.
What will you be looking for when you start judging the entries?
Mainly a new path. Obviously, I will judge, as a specialist in art direction, the idea and execution of each piece that is conceived for me, however, a work that comes out in the usual way that we are used to seeing, will certainly have an even more special attention.
What lasting impact might the current crisis have on creative work?
The purpose of the communication will certainly be different going forward. People believe and follow brands that are engaged with their ideals, their beliefs and mainly concerned with doing some good, not just making a profit. If the public is suspicious of this purpose, the brands will surely disappear from the scene.
