hierry LIBAERT holds a Doctorate in Information Sciences and Communication awarded by the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL-Brussels) as well as a French masters (DESS) in Political and Social Communication from the University of Paris-1, the diploma of the Institute of Political Studies of Paris and a Masters degree in Public Law.
He is a member of EESC, the European Economic and Social Committee and AFNOR, the French standardisation agency. He has published around 20 books to date and a wide variety of articles.
Currently lecturing since 2008 at UCL-Brussels, Belgium he also regularly lectures at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, France and at the University of Saint-Denis on the Reunion Island. He previously taught the science behind Information and Communication at the Paris-IV University (CELSA) at Masters and PHD level from 1992 to 2008, and founded courses on enterprise communication at the University of Technology of Troyes from 1998 to 2003.
He chairs the Laboratory for the Analysis of Organisational Communication Systems (LASCO) at UCL-Brussels in Belgium as well as the scientific committee of « Communication & Entreprise », the top corporate PR agency in France. He was a member of the editing committee of the journal « Communication & Langages » from 2005 to 2009 and has filled the same role for « Recherches en Communication » since then. He is a committee member for the « Ecological Vigilance of the Nature and Mankind » foundation and of the council overseeing the Leonardo de Vinci MBA in Marketing and Sustainable Development. After having being voted into the committee for Environmental Vigilance for the French Environmental Minister, he worked as a member of the cabinet of sustainable development. He was a member of CPP (2008-2011) and Vice-President in latter years, advising the ARPP, the French advertising self-regulatory organisation.
He has worked in Public Relations for the Department of Industry, as well as PR director for one of France’s leading companies.
