After six years at the helm of Grey Latin America, Alain took up the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Grey Europe in January 2017.
During his time at Grey Latin America, the region experienced consistent growth while at the same time significantly improving its creative product, becoming one of the most creative regions within Grey global network.
In his role Alain oversaw a network of 13 different Grey offices in Latin America serving key multinational and local clients such as Procter & Gamble, HSBC, GlaxoSmithKline, Heineken, Coca Cola, Tigo Telecom, Wal-Mart and Grupo Falabella, to name just a few. Under his leadership, Grey has shown strong topline revenue and bottom line profitability growth in the region, driven by strengthened relationships with current clients, new business wins and expanded capabilities. He has also attracted dynamic creative, digital and general management talent that has added new energy to the Grey team across the region.
Prior to joining Grey, Alain was General Manager of La Comunidad, one of the most successful and highly awarded creative agencies in the U.S. Hispanic market. During his three years there the agency doubled in size, winning and expanding relationships with clients such as Remy Martin, Best Buy, Miller Beer and Sony Electronics, and was named Adweek/Marketing & Media Agency of the Year.
Alain began his advertising career at Leo Burnett, where he started in account management in the Chilean office in 1984. He rose within the agency through successive assignments in Puerto Rico, Brazil and Miami to SVP/Regional Account Director, winning and then running the $70 million Visa Latin America account across 17 countries. In this role he was an integral part of the Leo Burnett regional leadership as well as the global business development team. Alain has worked with companies and brands as varied as McDonald’s, Diageo, DIRECTV, Citibank, Shell, HSBC, Gatorade, Eli Lilly, Walt Disney, Procter & Gamble and Visa to name just a few.
Half French, half Dutch, born in New York, raised in Canada, married to a Puerto Rican and a lover of Latin culture. Alain has earned degrees from institutions in four different countries (Canada, Chile, Puerto Rico and the US), including a MBA from Duke University.
