Bas Korsten, Creative Partner, leads the creative department at J. Walter Thompson Amsterdam. He's also Chairman of JWT's European Creative Council.
His ambition and commitment to creativity has turned a traditional office into one of the most talked about and awarded agencies in the world. Bas originally graduated as an Engineer in Logistic Management in 1992, but quickly realising his mistake, he followed his heart and moved into advertising.
He started at DDB Amsterdam, then founded two agencies and joined J. Walter Thompson Amsterdam end of 2011 - where he put innovation at the heart of the agency. Resulting in a run of game-changing campaigns such as double Cannes Grand Prix winning The Next Rembrandt, D&AD Black Pencil winning School for Justice, and a raft of accolades, including Dutch Agency of the Year and Cannes Innovation Agency of the Year in 2016.
Bas was included in AdAge's Creativity 50 (2016), together with Tom Ford, Prince and David Bowie. And was Adweek's One of 10 Global Creative Leaders who are reinventing the Ad industry (2017).
