Stéphane Martin, born in 1967 and a graduate of Sup de Pub, began his career as a radio presenter and programme director in Haute-Normandie, before working in marketing and quality at Avenir outdoor (Havas). In 1998, he was appointed deputy director of the Syndicat national de la publicité télévisée (SNPTV) until June 2010, when he was appointed director general of the Autorité de régulation professionnelle de la publicité (ARPP), French Self-Regulatory Organization. In this capacity, he is a board member of the international organisations EASA and ICAS, based in Brussels. In addition to his professional responsibilities, he has held several chairmanships of joint organisations in the industry, notably chairing AFDAS and currently Thalie Santé, the Occupational Health and Prevention Service for the cultural and creative industries. He is Treasurer of the Association pour les actions de la Filière Communication and a director of the Media Institute training organisation. He also chairs La Fabrique des Formats and the Ecran Jeunesse association, which promotes young apprentice actors.
