About me

I am a retired Professor of Communication. Nowadays I am a journalist, photojournalist, foreign correspondent/editor, and Head of the NY Branch Office of a Hungarian based Press Agency (WBPI) and TV Channel (Heti TV) in New York. I am the Founder Editor in Chief of CCO MAGAZINE - the Magazine of the Chief Communication Officers.
I have expertise in writing, editing, and publishing. I was a TV talk show host on one of Hungary's tv-channel called Budapest Television. I wrote 17 books in the field of Applied Communication.
Previously I was the President of the Ethical Committee of the Association of Hungarian Journalists and also the President of the Media Self-Regulatory Body of Hungary.
I am a member of different professional organizations. Among others: Society of Professional Journalists USA, Association of Hungarian Journalists, Hungarian Public Relations Association, Chartered Institute of Public Relations the UK. I am a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Association of Foreign Correspondents in the USA.
I am a member of the NJCU IDR Connecting Bridges and Borders Program Steering Committee and I am the Founder and President of the American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce.

The American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce strives to be a bridge connecting the American and Hungarian business world with a view to establish and promote prosperous business and trade relationships. The American Hungarian Chamber of Commerce is an independent, strictly neutral organization- with no affiliation to political parties and/or authorities- fostering the goal to develop and improve the members’ business relationships and increase their reputation.

The ECCOMA.Info – the Magazine of the Chief Communication Officers – was founded in 2006, founded and edited by Thomas Barat, the former Secretary-General and later Vice President of the European Public Relations Confederation.

Since its establishment, the Magazine of the Chief Communication Officer has been publishing news and professional publications for communications executives and staff in organizations and prospective professionals in communications education.

CCO Magazine’s key subjects of expertise include applied communication, marketing-communication, public relations, human relations, corporate social responsibility, mass communication, press, media, and journalism. The AFC-USA is a nonprofit journalistic organization in America.
