About me

BIO.

Tony Waissmann. Advertising / Industrial Designer / Innovation Besides working and loving this profession for more than 22 years, I am also an Industrial Designer. I studied this career because I really like cars and when I was a kid, I wanted to design them, although it wasn't a usual activity here in my country. As a child, I also took theatre classes for a long time and that has made a great contribution to my profession, as I feel very comfortable choosing and coaching actors, which is key to working, especially in some media. I was on that side, so I understand both worlds.

In 2001 I founded a creative school called Underground, which was one of the most recognized creative schools in Latin America with branches in Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru and Mexico. I directed this school for 18 years until I decided to close it in order to focus 100% on the development of my career. I also created a car magazine called MOVIL, which I had for three years, where I wrote about cars and sensations. What happens to us with their smells, textures, materials, seams, etc., but above all, what happens to us when we are exposed to different car designs, models and brands.

I worked in more than 12 agencies along my career. Some of them were Agulla & Baccetti Lowe, Pragma, FIRE DDB, Euro RSCG (CD), FCB (ECD), GTB (ECD) , Geometry Global Argentina (CCO), and now I’m the Latam CCO at HOY by Havas.

Luckily, I had the honor of being recognized for my work in many opportunities, Cannes, Clio, New York Festival. London International Award, El Sol, El Ojo de Iberoamérica, Gramado, Wave festival, Fiap, Círculo de Creativos Argentinos, etc with 6 Grand Prix in total.

I believe in “doing” and my most important skill is making things happen. I believe in the team much more than in individuals and I believe in agencies that never wait for a brief to start working. Proactivity is a central part of my work. I feel that one is more talented surrounded by talent and that's what I always try to have in my team. Talent and diversity.

In 2019 I was chosen as one of the 10 best creative directors in Latin America and one of the 3 best creative directors in Argentina.

My three passions are Advertising, Cars and Dogs.
